The cost of a college
education has risen
exponentially in the last two decades alone, and with this rise
expected to
continue, you need to be aware of the many avenues you have to break
outside
the confines of the campus bookstore and to find discount college
textbooks. There are many ways
to
save money on the
materials which are so often the required reading necessary for an A in
class,
and the development of the internet has only helped the cause. Indeed
the
internet, price comparison websites, online auction houses, and
super-retailers
like amazon.com have basically rendered the old school campus bookstore
all but
completely obsolete. Soon enough, the only
use the the school bookhub
will have is to supply scantron sheets, basic supplies, and alma mater
memorabilia.
No longer will there be aisle after isle of books, new and shiny,
tightly
packaged, and organized by class number. Why? Because book
publishers
in the not so distant
future will be in the midst of a crisis similar to what the recording
industry
is enduring right now, and whether they adapt and how they do so will
be up to
them. In the meantime, break out of the confines of the school
affiliated shop,
and hold tightly onto your money, because you can rent your books, or
buy
within one of the sectors mentioned above, and receive at times an up
to 60%
off what you would pay in "those other" circumstances. This, I think,
is a stupendous deal, and with that extra money, you could have less
stress and
more fun throughout the semester.
